After 16 years in the restaurant industry in various leadership roles, Courtenay joined the Community Management field where she has been for over 6 years. She worked as an on-site manager for a 230 unit high rise and a 928 unit Master and Sub-Association for 2 ½ years. Due to her hard work and experience in managing others, Courtenay was promoted to Team Leader to use her experience to provide coaching and guidance to a team of Community Managers providing oversight, planning and execution for capital repair projects ranging from $20k to phased projects in excess of $16 million. In the restaurant field, Courtenay was a part of two start up teams to launch new concepts. The first was Caribou Coffee where she worked in many different roles to include Store Manager, Market Trainer, District Manager and Regional Marketing Manager. In addition to hiring, training and managing over 250 employees, Courtenay also opened over 20 new locations and earned the employee of the year award in 1997. The second was Cenitare, a series of restaurants helmed by Chef Tramonto and Chef Gand, at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling. As an Economics major from Boston University, Courtenay started her career in finance at Piper Jaffray, Inc back in her home town of Minneapolis where she graduated from The Blake Schools. She has spent a decade volunteering with the Junior League of Chicago where she served as the Co-Chair of the Mad Hatters twice earning her the Shining Star award. Courtenay has also served as the Board President for her condominium association for over 8 years.
